Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some answers to some frequently asked questions about Classified Adz. Take a couple minutes to look through them. If you still have questions, don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re happy to help!

Do I have to register?

You only have to register if you wish to place an ad. You can browse and respond to the ads without registering.

Why do I need an account?

An account is a good thing! By placing your ads while being logged in you get the benefit of being able to manage all the ads you place in one convenient place, the 'My Account' icon, once logged on, (located at the top right-hand corner of the page) will list your current and expired ads.  You can edit, delete or renew from this area.

How do I access my account?

At the top right-hand corner of every page, you will see the My Account icon next to the 'Post Your Ad' button. Please click on that icon.

If it says 'Sign In' enter your user name or email address and password. You will be taken to the 'Your Account' area where you can edit your billing and contact information.  Then you will have access to Your Orders so you can review the listings you have placed in the past.

Not sure if you have an account already set up?

If you have placed ads with us before, you have an account! Click on the My Account icon at the top right-hand corner of the page to log into your account.  Put in the email address or user name you might have used and the password.  If you can’t remember the password, click on the “Forgot password?” link and follow the steps to reset it.  Then log on and place your classified ad.

How Do I Change My Ad? 

The easiest way would be to go to the My Account page and click on the “my listings” button. You can then click the edit button next to your ad to edit it.  You can also View, Mark As Sold, Promote or Delete your Ads.

What are Top & Featured Ads?

Top & Featured ads are highlighted on the homepage, main classifieds page and always appear at the top of the ad listings, both in the “Browse All” listing and the individual categories. Those who choose to feature their ad get the benefit of having their ad more visible among the many other ads posted.

What are Bump Up Ads?

Bump Up ads always appear in the middle of the ad listings and not at the bottom, both in the “Browse All” listing and the individual categories. Those who choose to Bump Up  their ads get the benefit of having their ads not be at the very bottom of the many other ads posted.

How much does it cost to post an ad?

Posting an ad is free. However, unless you are on membership, you are only limited to 3 free regular ads per month. Click here to view our pricing and packages. All users have unlimited Job Post Ads.

How do I pay for an ad?

Go to 'My Account', click 'My Listings' to view all your ads, click 'Promote' on the ad you want to pay for, choose promotion and proceed to checkout.

Also, after posting your free ad, the form will offer you the chance to promote your ad. Once you’ve made your selections, you will be able to select if you want to pay by Debit/Credit Card, Direct Bank Transfer or Mobile Money.

If you choose to pay by debit/credit card, the site will forward you to the DPO website (DPO Group is Africa’s leading payment service provider (PSP).). Their secure servers will allow you to pay for your ad without the fear of your information being stolen. Once you’ve paid, your ad will be approved and will start appearing on the site.

With very limited exceptions, we only accept payments online, through direct bank transfer and mobile money.

Is there a way for me to pay for my membership in advance, rather than every month?

Yes. We can set up your account to allow you to pay once a month or even longer. To do this, you need to email us (info available at our Contact page).

Will other users be able to see my personal information?

No. The information that you provide during registration does not show up on your ads, only your username. However, you can have your phone number appear if you enter that information when you place your actual ad.

How does Chat work?

Chat functionality allows you to instantly chat with advertisers/customers at any time of the day. Inactive chats will automatically be sent to the seller's email address.

Change of Password link

If you requested a ‘Change of Password” link and did not get it within 15 minutes check your Junk Mail folder.  If it is not there contact us at info@classified-adz.com and we will reset it for you.

My ad was approved but I don’t see it. What gives?

Sometimes browsers will cache a web page and hitting “refresh” doesn’t always work to truly refresh the page. Try a “Ctrl+Shift+R” to force a full refresh. 99% of the time, that fixes the issue and shows that your ad is, indeed, posted.
